Calf raise off step – single leg

An active, weight-bearing exercise for the ankle and toe plantar flexors, including the gastrocnemius, soleus and muscles of the deep posterior compartment of the leg.

  • standing on a step with one foot, with your heel off the edge
  • lift your heel up, without bending the hips or knees
  • lower back down in a controlled manner
  • repeat as needed
  • NOTE: can use support as needed
