Gas pedal stretches

A cross body stretch and mobilization from the upper extremity, through the trunk, to the lower extremity.

  • sitting on the floor, have one leg outstretched
  • using the opposite hand, grasp the underside of the foot reaching from the outside of the foot
  • slowly point the foot to add to the stretch
  • hold and repeat as needed
  • NOTE: this can be a harmful stretch if there are disc issues, dural or nerve involvement present in the low back or lower extremity
