Posterior rotation inominate: standing

A stretch position that facilitates posterior rotation of the inominate on one side.

  • standing with the stretch-side foot on a bench or platform and the other foot on the floor, maintaining even weight distribution between both feet
  • gently bend forward from the hips, letting your upper body hang
  • the amount of back flexion or rounding involved will depend on the individual’s focus for the mobilization
  • only work within the comfortable range
  • can incorporate deep breathing
  • hold and repeat as needed
