Thoracolumbar rotation, in lunge, with upper extremity mobility

Active mobility exercise for the upper extremities, thoracolumbar region, pelvis and hips.

  • start in a deep lunge position beside a wall (with your leg that is closest to the wall in the bent/flexed position)
  • outstretch both arms in front of your body
  • take the hand that is closest to the wall and draw a half circle along the wall, turning your torso to accommodate the movement
  • move the hand back through the arc and return to the starting position
  • take the other hand (the one away from the wall) and reach it back behind you, again, truning your tora=so to accommodate the movement
  • return the hand to the start position
  • repeat as needed
