Upper limb mobility: radial nerve bias

A mobility exercise for the upper extremity, involving some tension on the radial nerve.

  • keep the head and neck in a neutral position
  • gently depress the scapula
  • make a loose fist while tucking your thumb into your fingers
  • straighten the elbow
  • extend the whole upper extremity behind your body (reaching back)
  • flex the wrist
  • internally rotate the forearm (rotate it inwards)
  • move in and out of this position, only working within the comfortable range
  • repeat as needed
  • NOTE: care if there is any dural tension
  • NOTE: see flossing exercises for more dural mobilization
