Hip abduction with deep abdominal involvement and with resistance band looped around distal thigh.

  • laying on your back, hips and knees bent, feet placed flat on the floor
  • place a looped resistance band around the distal thigh or knees
  • flatten the abdomen and recruit the deep abdominal muscles, creating a gentle tone felt under your fingers
  • do not change your pelvis or spine position to create this contraction
  • breathe normally; avoid holding your breath
  • keeping the feet together, spread the knees apart against the resistance from the band
  • repeat as needed
