(VIDEO) ▶️ Forward lunge

An active, weight-bearing exercise for the lower extremity.

  • start in a standing position
  • step forward with one leg, with reciprocal arm movement (as in with walking or running)
  • keeping the spine neutral, bend at the hips and knees to the desired depth
  • maintain good alignment and loading through the lower extremity
  • return to the start position
  • repeat as needed
  • NOTE: can also do continually walking forwards
