Rolling for the posterior hip, involving the gluteal muscles and deep external rotators of the hip.

  • sitting on a roller, on the ground, supported by the arms
  • tilt the body to the one side slightly such that one hip is resting on the roller
  • cross the ankles if more comfortable
  • roll around on the muscled part of the posterior hip, avoiding any bony prominences
  • repeat as needed
