Upper limb mobility: median nerve bias

A mobility exercise for the upper extremity, involving some tension on the median nerve.

  • keep the head and neck in a neutral position
  • gently depress the scapula
  • lift the arm to approx 90 degrees
  • straighten the elbow
  • supinate (turn the palm face up)
  • extend the wrist
  • move in and out of this position, only working within the comfortable range
  • repeat as needed
  • NOTE: care if there is any dural tension
