Scapular depression, protraction stretch: sitting

A stretch into scapular depression and protraction, involving the scapular retractors and elevators, including rhomboids, middle and upper fibres trapezius and levator scapulae.

  • sitting, reach the stretch-side hand to the inside of the opposite leg and grasp behind the knee
  • gently pull back with your trunk, allow the scapula to be “pulled” forwards, relatively speaking
  • hold and repeat as needed
