Rolling for the posterior hip, involving the gluteal muscles and deep external rotators of the hip.

  • sitting on a roller, on the ground, supported by the arms
  • lift one arm and tilt the body to the opposite side slightly so only one hip is resting on the roller
  • cross the lower leg of the weighted-hip side over the opposite knee
  • roll around on the muscled part of the posterior hip, avoiding any bony prominences
  • repeat as needed
